I acted as General / Country Manager for Aquanima in Argentina, Uruguay and Chile. Aquanima is an e-business company specializing in Supply Chain Management and e-procurement belonging to the Santander group of companies and it is devoted to rendering strategic supply and cost reduction services to the Group’s companies and to the marketplace in general through a new valuable tool: “No Savings, No Fees” Within the field of SCM (Supply Chain Management), Aquanima takes care of the business processes of both its internal as well as its external customers, involving everybody concerned, from production to distribution. It includes the procurement of raw materials, suppliers, customer service, logistics and, generally speaking, the whole supply chain of its customers, optimizing their businesses. In the field of e-procurement, Aquanima handles the electronic supplies of products and services over the Internet by means of electronic auctions. These platforms then manage purchases from suppliers, either by purchasing direct products or services; i.e. raw materials or as indirect products; i.e. stationery, IT and sundry services. The main advantage of using these platforms lies in the time savings involved in managing purchases, the possibility of accessing new suppliers and price reductions when acquiring goods and services. Among the most important clients are: Banco Santander Chile, Bansander AFP, Santander Banefe, Santander Seguros, Altec, Orígenes AFJP Argentina, Banco Río de la Plata Argentina, Banco Estado, Banco Scotiabank, Ripley and Falabella. Aquanima handles and negotiates for its customers business worth more than US$ 300 million on Strategic Procurement per annum.
