  My role at Run for Your Life is to help people find shoes and products to help them start running or walking to maintain an active lifestyle. Starting a new sport or moving to the next level of sport can be intimidating, so we provide added support through advice, proper shoe fittings, and creating a supportive running and training community. I love being able to connect with people from my communty who have a shared interest in sport. Especially after two years in a pandemic people have had to develop new past times and ways to support their mental health. Many people who previously were not interested in running are now getting out on the roads. Having a community to help encourage and support them will only add to their experience. One of my main goals in this job is to make everyone who enters Run for Your Life feel included and welcome in the community. There are many reasons someone might not feel like they fit in the sport of running, so it is important to focus on inclusion of people of different backgrounds and abilities. The running community is becoming more diverse, and the broad variety of experiences benefits everyone and makes the community as a whole stronger. Show less
