Neil Edwards is an incredibly kind person and an imaginative, but practical designer. I started working with Neil in January 2016. He approached his design work in a methodical way; he always lead his ideas with a good eye for what was fun, but tempered it with an empathetic ability to anticipate the needs of those that would be playing our game. He laid out plans clearly, going into exhaustive detail about the user’s experience from point A all the way to point Z. While his designs were often well received, what impressed me most was his flexibility. He spent tremendous amounts of effort in organizing intricate experiences by addressing edge cases and even thinking through some of the implementation details with me. When faced with criticism, changing requirements, and the harsh reality of monetary targets, he was always able to pivot quickly and confidently. When we worked together nothing that we did felt like wasted effort, and I believe that he is capable of handling any challenge with good humor in a way that will always surprise you.

When I first began working with Neil, it immediately became apparent that he is someone who will go above and beyond in not only the conception of a design, but will follow it through to its execution. His continuous work to quickly analyze, iterate, and justify design decisions has saved others countless hours because of the forethought he gives to his work. Besides already being exceptional at what he does, he continually gathers and shares new knowledge with those around him with the goal of building a greater product and the best possible user experience. I’ve learned a great deal from this guy and honestly believe every project he’s touched is substantially the better for it! I’d consider myself fortunate to work with him again in the future and will time and time again enthusiastically recommend him to anyone considering adding him to their team.
