Designing lifting equipment for below the hook (BTH) applications such as motorized screw grabs, coil grabs, power rotators, ingot tongs, etc. A lot of the equipment is sold to steel and aluminum mills but we also provide grabs for any company that needs to lift, rotate and/or move items in their factories.

Reduced total inventory dollar amount by use of obsolescence and excess inventory identification. Created an almost live database for calculating inventory parameters that could be uploaded in the ERP system as well as utilized a yellow/green/red visual system to identify re-order points. Met with suppliers to ensure that the best material selections were being used for the factory. Ordered materials needed for inventory and customer orders and verified incoming steel shipments for accuracy against purchase orders. Helped ensure that work orders for customer orders were properly processed from creation through and including final completion. Interfaced with customers to create new products for their specific high speed thread rolling applications including providing technical advise, testing customer product for threading feasibility, working up quotations and assisting with production lead times. Increased everyone’s expertise on CAE software by use of training sessions, assisted others with fixing solid models/drawings and provided best practices so modeling technique was more consistent from engineer to engineer. Managed engineering interns that successfully loaded engineering files (electronic and paper copies) into the initial PDM system setup, which was the first step in moving to a paperless engineering department. Performed iterative finite element analysis (FEA) simulations in CAE software to optimize sand cast, die cast and sheet metal designs for structural strength, reduce vibration fatigue and safety requirements. Managed several concurrent fixture redesign projects, created accompanying engineering drawings and completed design modifications on existing products. Created incoming part inspection reports to verify that the parts were within engineering specifications and resolved issues with suppliers when outside of acceptable tolerances. Ensured documentation was filled out properly per ISO 9001 specifications.
