  Having held a number of roles within my career at Sulzer, it has given me a solid commercial and technical foundation to carry out my duties as a successful operations manager. Within this role I oversee the planning and processes used in order to maximise profit and ensure that the machinery our customers entrust us with is repaired on time and to the highest standard. Given the current skills shortage in engineering in the UK, I have also been at the forefront of developing the fifteen apprentices as part of our long-term succession planning. Key responsibilities:  General management responsibility for all small/medium sized rotating equipment (typically up to 10 tonne) including traction motors.  Line management of 26 members of staff.  Devise apprenticeship training programs.  Liaising with customers, offering solutions to engineering issues.  Ensure 24 hour cover is maintained within the business, service is key to success.  Ensuring all operational duties are performed safely with substantial involvement in all QESH related activities.  Report RFC on a monthly basis to the group financial controller.  Delivery of monthly sales budget on time at profit.  Present QESH initiatives from corporate to shop floor such as the ‘life saving rules’ training.  Working with local sales team, building to develop customer relations and identifying new potential revenue streams.  Producing written professional/technical quotations to client base.
