My role whilst working at Landrover was to help set up a new manufacturing engineering installation team. The new ME team had taken over the bodyside inner zones and 22.1 framing line. The team’s deliverable was to carry on commissioning L460 from auto status 6 to 10 and also continue with L461 from AS2 to 10. My duties whilst helping to set up the team involved the following fire register, risk assessments and method statements. Investigating and costing customer requests. Processing approved MRE orders and ensuring the team achieved the objectives and milestones involved with those MRE’s. Updating process documents, gantt charts, brochures and allocating process designer following new design level updates. Supporting build activities and resolving any issues which arise. Interface with the customer by attending all reviews. Show less

My duties within this role involve project managing the introduction of various robot automation zones for the 2011 L405 Range Rover model year project at the D7u Solihul plant, Birmingham. The robot zones have been designed to fully assemble aluminium panels using aluminium rivet technology. My responsibilities have been to plan and execute various design aspects within the zone, organise installation, and supervise various builds including the Hard Tool Functional and TT builds. Once the zones have been fully commissioned they are handed over to Land Rover for full volume manufacturing. This involves leading various suppliers, contractors and resources with regards to timing, change, cost, design, manufacture, installation, tryout & commissioning and test & development requirements. My duties within the engineering role at Rolls-Royce UK civil aerospace was to deal with day to day quality and manufacturing issues for current production working on turbine blades. This role also involves programme managing complex projects and with the development of new and more environmentally friendly engines which are essential for the Boeing and Airbus fleet of aero planes new part introduction is evolving more and more within this role. Also using Statistical Process Control to control complex processes, process improvement, lean manufacturing, Continuous improvement on machine tools, machine processes and manufacturing methods, using design for manufacture techniques on tooling reviews and using advanced technology methods which include Makino grind, die-sink, film-cool, weld, Jones & Shipman special grind, polishing, various coating processes and inspection practices. Various green belt and black belt projects have been successfully completed from a technical point of view to reduce scrap within the facility and I have successfully introduced rework methods on turbine blades, which have saved the facility in excess of £1,000,000. I have also successfully managed and IPT lead various transfers of manufacturing processes from one factory to another. This has required me to have a clear definition of deliverable s such as time scales, budgets and specifications and to deliver the project milestones on time. When requested I have also travelled over to Rolls Royce Germany to support as and when required mainly to deal with quality and technical issues on the assembly build line. Show less
