      In view of strengthening the primary care setup, I was tasked to draft four guidelines including transfer guidelines during the height of the COVID pandemic. I invented a modified Delphi technique and completed the guidelines through a participatory approach with a well-recognized resource panel. Health System enhancement was piloted in nine districts in four provinces. I visited all the hospitals in this pilot project,helped them to identify their gaps in services and management,guided them to give quality of care with available resources.Help them in Marketing the services given by their institutions to address the bypassing.       After retirement, the Faculty of Medicine Peradeniya recruited me in 2016 as a Senior Lecturer and one of the tasks assigned was to create the Family Medicine Unit which was the struggle of the Faculty of Medicine Peradeniya for over a decade. I manage to execute and start the Family Medicine programthis with the support of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and other academic staff within one year and the first batch of fourth year medical students completed the training in Family Medicine by 2018. The program was evaluated with the support of students trained to identify the gaps. Show less

The first ever side event of Sri Lanka hosted at the World Health Assembly,held on 25th May 2015, I was the Moderator. Coordinated to get the co-sponsorship from Bangladesh, Bhutan and Thailand to the Side event themed “Strategies to overcome resistance against pictorial warning messages in tobacco products”. Director WHO Dr Margret Chan was among the distinguish attendees. Over 70 delegates from member states attended. Sri Lanka opted to hold the 69th WHO Regional Committee in Sri Lanka,Coordinated the President of Sri Lanka to join the exercise program launch and the state dinner given. Prime Minster to grace the Inauguration. Director General WHO and SEARO DG to attend among other delegates. “Best RC Ever" and Sri Lanka had taken the standards of the RC very high were expressed.
