  Governance in Global Value Chains: Analyzing the Lemon Industry in Mersin, Türkiye. Investigating governance structures and role of institutions in the Turkish-German lemon value chain and their implications for the participation of lemon growers in global value chains (GVCs) as well as for regional development prospects in Mersin. - Conducted semi-structured interviews with the Mersin Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, Mersin Chamber of Agriculture, Turkish National Citrus Council, Mediterranean Exporters' Association, lemon producers, intermediary traders, and exporters. - Mapped the Turkish-German lemon VC - Analysed the organization of inter-firm relationships and the role of institutions - Identified bottlenecks in the upstream segment of the VC and proposed recommendations for improvement Show less
