As a result the mobile team faced completely new challenges all related to scalability of processes, technologies and services. The biggest challenge we faced was to replace the existing payment system with the new Depop Wallet, with the goal to have a higher degree of control over funds and provide a better experience to the customer. Throughout this process my responsibilities evolved from purely focusing on the development of the iOS application, to playing a key role in bringing people from different disciplines together and make the best decisions possible for the product and our users. During this time I had a chance to go to Silicon valley twice: the first time to attend the WWDC and the second time to attend a (secret) workshop at Apple headquarter in Cupertino to work on a brand new concept for the Depop Apple Watch app. After this exciting experience I ran an internal workshop to explain the potential of this new platform to the rest of the team so that we could start working on the prototype while getting everyone involved with their feedback and ideas. The most interesting aspect of my job during throughout this period at Depop was to work closely with designers and consolidate my technical and UX skills, required to support the growth of the app and of the company.

The most interesting aspect of my job was to collaborate with the CEO and founder, who at the time was also the product designer, with the goal of designing the best user experience possible for the mobile app. This helped me building an analytical approach to problem solving which involves a thorough evaluation of technology as well as user needs.
