MWNUK is a charity focused on promoting equality, social inclusion and racial/religious harmony. Activities include conducting research, developing resources, education & training, campaigning and advocacy (which includes identifying policy and practice gaps and use this information to inform decision makers in government (including at ministerial level) and other other public bodies), running the MWN Helpline and MWN Hub, and acting as Secretariat of the APPG on Muslim Women. As a trustee I assist the Board on matters of management and governance as well as overall strategy and direction of the organisation, and particularly in respect of legal and compliance matters. I also assist with providing Written and Oral Evidence to Governmental Enquiries, providing pro-bono assistance in respect of our Helpline cases and oversee the social media accounts.
