      My primary responsibility within this role included managing the co-ordination, planning and administration within the Learning & Organisational Development team.       My primary responsibilities within this role included administering the union’s Academic Representation Network, comprising of over 500 student volunteers. This entailed developing a comprehensive training programme and conducting regular one to ones with every volunteer. Alongside this, I advised our sabbatical on wider Higher Education policy; writing policy briefings and researching policy implications.       I was elected to this position in March 2015 and started working in July of the same year. My main responsibilities included being responsible for the finances, strategy, staffing and representation of the Students' Union. The Students' Union is a £4 mil. turnover organisation which employs over 30 full time staff and 250 student staff; as President I chaired the union's Board of Trustees and worked alongside the Chief Executive, advising on the day to day running of the union, and also protect the long term financial health of the organisation. I also worked with the CEO to ensure that the Union adheres to financial, legal and reputational requirements as specified under charity law, this involved regular meetings with the CEO and other union staff, the scrutiny of operational and strategic plans, and advising on policy implementation. During my time as President, I led on the creation and development of the union's new four year strategic plan, and I also project-led the process of adapting a new constitution for the union. I also represented the voice of over 10000 students by sitting on various university committees, including acting as a governor by sitting on the governing body of the university; my role as President required working closely with stakeholders within the university's senior management to enhance the student experience. Alongside this, I also co-chaired meetings with the Principal. Aside from this, I also be represented the Union on a national level at NUS National Conference. I also represented students on any issues regarding their education. I have trained over 250 student course representatives as well as campaigning on issues that face students during their time at university.
