The experience was quite enlightening and gave me a good perspective of what a life of research entails. Some of my work along with the other interns included: -Observing the trend of b-values of concrete subject to uniaxial compression using a relation to the Gutenberg-Richter law in seismology, using Non-Destructive Testing -Manually casting 9 concrete cylinders of different proportions of aggregates and recording Acoustic Emission waves while testing after 7, 14 and 28 days -Analyzing the AE data using AEwin SAMOS and MATLAB -Presenting the results of the study in a conference in Chennai, India (NDE-2017) conducted by the Indian Society for Non Destructive Testing Show less
