Winner of the Aviva future advisors prestigious gold award 2011 I was selected as an intern from applications of close to 600 students from 8 universities. The requirements were to submit an article detailing my thoughts on the financial advice profession and industry, followed by a two-day assessment centre. I attended a fully paid 6-week internship where I spent time with various financial Networks, IFA’s (Independent Financial Advisors), Banks, Building societies, and at the Aviva UK life’s Head offices. Time was spent with the Financial network Tenet where I completed an IFA Supervisor course which allows supervision of trainee IFA’s if I were myself qualified. I spent time within the Coventry building society working closely with several IFA’s investigating client risk profiles, the investment selection process and wrap platforms. I also worked with Tyne Vale Financial where I shadowed an IFA, undertook and passed a number of mock CFQ level four exams! Show less
