  I made sure the GIS/RS lab was operating smoothly at all times. This included updating software and programs and testing to make sure all worked accordingly. A minor component of my job was to be a tutor for students in various geography classes. Another aspect of my job was to maintain a weather station that was run by the Northern Michigan University Geography Department. This included learning and programming in a Linux environment.
