I've worked with many different teams and companies over the years. I've had many bosses as a Software Engineer. For me, Than is amongst the most effective managers I've ever been able to work with. Than has a ton of experience as a fellow Software Engineer. He always was able to understand exactly what I was trying to communicate, no matter how technical or nuanced. He's a developer with all the hard skills you'd hope for. Yet despite his advanced knowledge and experience, Than approaches his work from a place of professional humility. He's always open to hearing about new or potentially better ways of solving a problem. He still strives to deliver the best work possible, no matter who was behind it. Needless to say, working in such an environment was really freeing. We had fun, tried to cover for and support each other, and got a ton of good work done. Than's earned my highest professional recommendation, but also my personal respect for his integrity and my friendship. If you're wondering, well you can't really go wrong here :)
