Nathaniel is an asset to the Affinty group! The way he explains the products they offer is great and his knowledge is second to none! He not only assists my clients, he has also assisted me on a personal level. We have also worked together for clients and he was always accessible and he always has the clients need at the top of his list! I can not recommend Nathaniel highly enough!

I applied for my mortgage, as a first time buyer through Nathaniel, at Affinity - I cannot fault the service or him at all. It was flawless throughout and at any point that I had a query, or a slight panic, I knew I could contact him and he would put my mind at ease. Extremely helpful in putting me in contact with the right people, and being a first time buyer, this was key to making the process run as smoothly as possible. Would recommend!

If you are the sort of person who wants total control over your business and built it to secure your future and the future of your loved ones, then boy do we have the service for you. My mission statement as Senior Business Consultant? To be the trusted, go to professional for business owners across their insurance and debt requirements. Additionally to work collegiality with fellow professional advisers where specialist tax, investment and other professional advice is required. There are way too many businesses in the UK paying over the odds on their commercial mortgages, their business loans, their asset finance, factoring and more. There are also far too many businesses that are under-protected should their financial positions change for the worse.

This is what I do:I find the best solutions for individuals who want their dream home and I source the protection to keep them there. I do this for residential homes and Buy-to-Let investment properties. I add value throughout the client journey. I solve problems before the client knows they exist. I communicate clearly throughout so that you know what’s going on. Here’s what’s been keeping me busy lately:Consolidating client debt where appropriate to minimise monthly client debt repayments by up to 80% and freeing up £2800 per month!Helping first time buyers with right to buy get their foot on the property ladder and finally have a tangible asset to their name!Supporting a bereaved client source funds to take over their spouses BTL post probate!Helping those on standard variable rate make great monthly savings by changing the product they are on!Will you or a loved one be the next person I help?

ROLE: Since 2011 schools have been given Pupil Premium Grant funding (PP) to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds. However, schools were not advised on the use of the funding and a coherent approach is yet to be established. I created I Heart Maths Tuition Ltd. to support schools and their disadvantaged students through intensive in-school tuition. Find out more here: www.iheartmathstuition.com KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Creating core service proposition, business plan, market research and financial analysis. 2. Managing tutors in line with company and school guidelines. 3. Marketing directly and through events. 4. Managing the business finances and payroll. 5. Networking regionally - I became a leading member of a local networking group. 6. Tutoring. KEY ACHIEVEMENTS: 1. Created a company that was profitable from day one. 2. Students twice as likely to improve by one or more sub-level when compared to non-participating PP students at the same school for multiple cohorts. 3. Helped over 800 students across client institutions. 4. Created jobs. 5. Created a desire for change without authority which led to client acquisition and a profitable outcome. TRANSFERABLE SKILLS: Area of greatest improvement: Communication/Leadership/Management Through working with school management and staff, with tutors and students I improved all aspects of my communication skill set as each audience was different and required varying approaches. Not only did I lead a team of teaching professionals but I also affected change through my interaction with school leaders becoming a leader around effective PP allocation.

ROLE: I made the decision to become a self-employed maths tutor as I had built up a large client base during my previous role and saw an opportunity to use this as a stepping stone before launching my business. I tutored students from secondary to A-Level privately and contracted for Greensward Academy. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Manage clients, work streams and myself. 2. Reported back to key stakeholders on a frequent basis. 3. Communicate effectively whilst maintaining a student-centric focus. KEY ACHIEVEMENTS: 1. 100% target or above for private students of 9 months or greater. 2. Build sustainable work streams through proactive approach. TRANSFERABLE SKILLS: Area of greatest improvement: Personal motivation/Time management and organisation. By taking on this role I removed my safety net. I experienced the fear that comes with uncertainty. This was invaluable as it helped me focus on what was important. I eliminated the white noise and set goals that would not only help me operate as a sole trader but would also prepare me for the next step in my career. By being proactive and achieving milestones I drove myself to the point at which I felt I was ready to launch my business.

ROLE: I had the opportunity to work with students of varying abilities at two secondary academies, both in the classroom and on a one-to-one basis, whilst I undertook an MSc. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Taught a small number of classes. Preparing lesson plans. Setting and marking homework. 2. Working with small groups of students. 3. Supporting some teaching staff with difficult concepts and supporting all during lessons. 4. Communicate with management on student progress. KEY ACHIEVEMENTS: 1. Achieved 90% success rate with students attaining target or better at after school revision sessions, which I set up and ran. 2. Taught some teaching staff complex topics, where understanding was lacking, prior to lessons and subsequently supported them in the classroom. 3. Working with Gifted & Talented students teaching them A-Level maths whilst they were studying for their GCSE’s. TRANSFERABLE SKILLS: Area of greatest improvement: Communication and teamwork. Worked within a collaborative team whose members had varying skillsets. I influenced without authority due to my ability to teach more senior members, as well as through setting up additional learning opportunities for students. Through this role I honed my written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills through constant contact with key stakeholders.

ROLE: Undertook a placement with Corporate Markets Ratings Systems (CMRS), a part of Corporate Banking at Lloyds Banking Group as the financial crisis unfolded. We modelled three key values: Probability of Default (PD), Loss Given Default (LGD) and Exposure At Default (EAD). I worked on LGD/EAD under Basel II. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Default data manager: LBG was a member of PECDC, whose member banks grouped default data as a benchmarking exercise. I used SAS code to format LBG data prior to submission. I successfully completed two bi-annual data submissions, updating the code and bug fixing on an ad hoc basis. Optimised code by 20% by removing redundant sections and improving logical consequences. Wrote user manual. 2. Online risk rating tool manager: The team migrated its LGD/EAD risk models to two online platforms and I was the contact for queries, data alteration for users and user access. 3. Validation/recertification: I worked with model owners to validate LGD/EAD model fitness and design improvements. Ran statistical analysis to be incorporated in model reports. 4. Stress testing: I worked on various LGD models and wrote SAS code to automate future stress tests. Used regression to measure model conservativism during downturns. KEY ACHIEVEMENTS: 1. Represented LBG at the PECDC conference. 2. Optimised SAS code by 20% to minimise run time. 3. Led analysis of the Education/Social Housing model. 4. Set up and ran two weight loss fund raisers for our London Triathlon team. Raised £1000. 5. Participant and fund raiser for the Corporate Markets Challenge raising over £1000 for charity. TRANSFERABLE SKILLS: Area of greatest improvement: research/analysis/IT. Researched model sectors to understand variables and assumptions through analysing data and communicating with key stakeholders. Analysed SAS code and data before submission and then reformatted due to updates in PECDC requirements. I developed my skills with MS office, SAS and used VBA.
