  International Coatings Company (ICC) is a California-based manufacturer that supplies textile screen printing inks, industrial coatings, and traffic paints. As an independent consultant, I have primarily assisted ICC with compliance challenges relating to product Safety Data Sheets (SDSs). To ensure data consistency and compliance across documents, I designed and implemented an SDS database from the ground up. The project has involved writing automated Python scripts to:- Extract text from SDSs and compile essential data within each document.- Consolidate data from all products into a central document database.- Compile ingredient-specific data into a separate ingredient profiles. - Automatically print complete and up to date SDSs from centralized data.Ingredient and product data within the new system are fully integrated, thereby allowing revisions to be applied across the database to ensure consistency between documents. By automating a once manual sequence of tasks, I eliminated room for human error when it comes to drafting SDSs, and I streamlined the compliance process. Show less
