Nathan's econometric skills, creativity, and attention to detail are superb. I'd be happy to talk with anyone considering using Nathan as an expert witness about my experiences working with him in the class action litigation context.

I headed the Washington DC office of Welch from 2007, when I moved after working for six years in the Welch California office, through February 2015. Much of my work was focused on class actions or government investigations involving large numbers of employees, multiple data sources and complex analysis topics involving eeo-related and wage and hour concerns.

Economist

Nov 2003 - Jan 2007
I became an Economist with Welch in 2003. With experience my responsibilities grew and I took the lead on more and different types of cases. In addition to work on eeo matters I began working on wage and hour cases. My focus was still primarily in class actions but I seemed always to be involved in proactive analysis of eeo and wage and hour topics outside of litigation as well. During this time I continued to teach courses to undergraduate and graduate students.

Jun 2001 - Sep 2003
I started with Welch in Santa Monica CA as a graduate student working on my dissertation (ABD). At that time my specific focus was on programming and statistical analysis of data on eeo-related matters in support of more senior colleagues. I was still teaching on the side and my intent at the time was to write my dissertation during my off hours and, with PhD in hand, embark on a career as a professor. To my surprise, I enjoyed my colleagues and our clients, the analytic challenges and the intellectual nature of my work so much that I decided to stay with consulting instead of pursuing an academic career
