South East Asia: Built the largest Aviary Bird Park in Asia 4 Aviaries & 1 Amphitheater • over 100pcs 30m Steel Columns• almost 800 Steel Cables in all different diameters and types • over 200 SUS Mesh Panels in small and XXL (>1000m²), in total more than 100,000m² • PTFE Membrane Roof for the Amphitheater Built the largest Aviary Bird Park in Asia. My tasks were not only limited to engineering coordination and the planning process of the installation. I also spent a long time on site to install the first cables and the largest ever produced Stainless Steel meshes with special air rigging techniques. The task required lifting XXL meshes over existing trees (up to 30m high) in the jungle. Due to extreme limited access requirements, it was only possible to lift with portable winches and access the structure through Rope Access. Training the local teams in special installing and lifting techniques, as well as in understanding LIGHTWEIGHT Structure were parts of my responsibilities. Beside the Bird Park: Pre-Construction of LIGHTWEIGHT Structures for Sales in Southeast Asia. This involved amongst others:• Form Finding of Membrane Structures• Structural Analysis for the Pre-Construction phase• Feasibility Studies• Installation Concepts / Method Statements and Risk Assessments• Inspection and Test Plans• Maintenance Manuals• Cost Analysis, Estimations and Savings Show less

    • Construction Manager for the Al Janoub Stadium | Retractable Stadium Roof
      • Nov 2017 - Jun 2019

Al Janoub Stadium | Retractable Stadium Roof• 10,800 m² Fully Automated Retractable Roof• main dimensions 170 x 93m• deployment time: 30minWorking in extreme conditions of Katari summer and 'winter' ensuring 100% safe working for our on-site team. The challenges were hard but could be managed due to close coordination with all trades. Aiming for the best possible solutions for our installation, we used Rope Access and complex lifting techniques where necessary. For example, we winched two 11ton PVC Membranes (45m long rolled sausages) 50 meters high before transferring it horizontally into the garages onto a suspended safety net which were connected to our steel cables. The planning and execution of the whole installation were my full responsibility. Thinking outside the box, coordinating all stakeholders and ensuring a strong motivation on site were great tasks which I enjoyed to fulfill. Beside the Al Janoub Stadium, I was involved in: • maintenance and handover of the Mushaireb Retractable Roof • the handover of the Mushaireb Balustrades and Canopies • the initial support for winning the 3rd stadium roof in Qatar, the Al Thumama Stadium• the first contact and initial coordination for a new retractable roof in Doha which is currently under construction (2022)#roadto2022#PFEIFERStructures#movableStructures Show less

    • Quality Management and Deputy Construction Manager for the Thyssenkrupp Test Tower | PTFE Facade
      • May 2017 - Oct 2017

One of Germanies highest Structures, the ThyssenKrupp Test Tower in Rottweil, Germany • On-site Quality management for the assembly of external PTFE membrane facade and steel structure • Deputy Construction Manager • Control and enhancing of work processes on site • Quality control of material and assembly from 246m to 0m height • Working hand in hand with Taiyo Europe Starting with the QA/QC, I developed fast into taking over more responsibilities. Instead of ‘just sitting in the office’, I started to climb the structure for detailed checks, took over small teams for quality assurance and developed installation concepts. After a couple of month, I worked as deputy construction manager. Ensuring the safety on a very limited working platform in extreme height, while lifting and installing heavy steel beams next to hundreds of visitors were a great challenge. Show less
