A typical day involves: Advising clients on data privacy and security: I provide legal guidance to clients on how to comply with various data privacy and security laws and regulations, including POPIA & ECTA, the GDPR & ePrivacy Regulation, and other relevant laws. Drafting and negotiating IT contracts: I assist clients in negotiating and drafting various technology agreements, such as software licenses, cloud computing agreements, and data centre agreements. Intellectual property protection: I advise clients on protecting their intellectual property rights. Data breach response: I help clients in responding to data breaches and assist them in mitigating the impact of such incidents, including conducting investigations and managing communication with affected individuals and regulatory authorities. Compliance assessments: I conduct compliance assessments to help clients identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks related to data privacy and security. Advising on emerging technology: I keep myself updated on the latest technology trends and advise clients on the legal and regulatory implications of new technologies, such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things.
