Bio
Nikki-Jo Grossman, MSN, RN
Nate is as professional as it gets. Working on a very busy Medicine unit with a high volume of psychiatric patients can be very challenging but knowing Nate is a phone call away provided a much needed security. Nate was incredibly helpful In providing de-escalating recommendations and when necessary providing in person support. It is obvious to this seasoned RN that Nate truly loves what he does and this is evidenced by his bedside manner. I have learned many interventions thanks to Nate and have often times felt much safer in dealing with aggressive patients thanks to this.
S. Alex Sidelnik, M.D.
I have had the privilege of working with Nate Jones over the past four years while at NYU Langone Health. Nate is an exemplary clinician and a critical part of our Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison Service along with his role as a Behavioral Nurse on the Behavioral Emergency Response Team. He is an expert in managing challenging patients in our hospital and and forming supportive relationships with nursing staff and other clinicians. Nate has a number of natural traits that make him well suited for many positions including an excellent ability to engage with patients and clinicians, an ability to learn new skills rapidly and teach other clinicians, and work as a leader on a team. He has additionally been a critical role in implementing a number of projects in our hospital including withdrawal protocols, behavioral safety plans, and a telemedicine initiative which have been very well received in our hospital. Any Service will be lucky to have Nate on their team as he will excel in any role in which he is presented. I support Nate with the highest degree of recommendation and would be happy to communicate further for any additional information.

Oct 2015 - Aug 2021
I serve as a psychiatric nursing content expert for the medical center. I work with interdisciplinary teams across the institution to provide support for staff working with behaviorally complex patients. I work as a support RN, an educator and advocate for patients with behavioral health issues who are not located on the inpatient psychiatric unit. I am the primary RN/Team Leader for our Behavioral Emergency Response Team and had a lead role in developing this service which launched in February of 2017. I work closely with our psychiatric consult liaison physicians, hospital administration and security staff collaborating on workflow, policy, education and safety issues. I also work closely with the ethics, legal and risk departments on a variety of complicated cases throughout the medical canter.
