After completing my second year of university studying Football Business & Marketing at University College Football Business (UCFB), I decided to seek out an opportunity to gain some highly beneficial industry experience to help me with my dissertation project currently under consideration. With Stamford AFC being one of the most renowned Football Clubs in my local area it was a perfect environment for me to be amongst. This was my first taste of the ever-growing sports industry and for me personally was extremely encouraging to be a part of considering the success of the projects I was involved in during my time at the Football Club.During my time at Stamford AFC, I had the pleasure of closely working with and alongside some industry Directors, Ex Professional Footballers and highly qualified Football Coaches. Whilst going into the unknown I was eagerly anticipating learning what Stamford AFC was all about and I had many questions for the director of Football Guy Walton, who hopefully felt like I wanted to get as much out of the opportunity he had given me as possible. Through concentrating on what I wanted to gain from this work experience I was confident that I could use my university level understanding and knowledge to benefit Guy, the projects we drew up together and the Football Club as a whole. I intended to offer them as much as I could in a way they could see opportunities and problems the Club came across in a different light to normal.
