Undertook two key projects with the Environmental Biotechnology Cooperative Research Centre. Water Corporation Air Quality Project The purpose of the Water Corporation Air Quality Project was to engineer a renewable sewerage gas emission treatment system as opposed to the current system of using activated carbon as the polishing step. The role included the development a culture of bacteria which significantly degraded methane within the laboratory. Engineering and construction of bioreactors to meet the needs of the site; along with purchasing components and monitoring equipment within budget. Installation and calibration of scientific equipment on-site and on-site trials of various filter media and bacteria combinations. Over a series of months I monitored, compiled and analysed data for methane and hydrogen sulfide emissions accurately and consistently on site and at laboratory using LabView and a Geotech GA2000. Furthermore, I undertook progress reporting to the client, the Water Corporation, and produced monthly project reports. Regional Resource Recovery Centre Air Quality Management Project: The purpose of the Regional Resource Recovery Centre Air Quality Management Project was to enable the Southern Metropolitan Regional Council (SMRC). The role included the Installation and calibration of scientific equipment on site. Monitoring and analysis of data for odour emission using ICT International moisture meters and temperature sensors, and HOBO humidity sensors. Air sampling which was further analys Undertook progress reporting to the client, the SMRC; produced monthly project reports.
