Nathan is truly beyond detail oriented, he is also patient, courteous and well versed in his field. I have worked with Nathan several times on various projects\issues and each time it was a pleasure to work with him. Sometimes it's not what people say that makes you appreciate their work BUT rather what they do not say.

As senior web developer for Carrington College my responsibilities have not changed much since changing titles. The title change more accurately reflects the role I was performing beforehand. The largest changes are the added responsibility to further mentor the other web developers on my team as well as assist the Web Team Marketing Manager in managing projects and timelines. In addition to planning and design, I ensure the other developers have access to all the data they require and the support systems necessary to provide that data are functioning properly, whether this is additional API calls or foundational code changes for better performance and security. Carrington College is a non-profit medical leaning education company. My primary responsibility is to develop and maintain an internal data warehouse which stores all campus information, program and course information, as well as much more. Numerous in-house developed systems depend on the data contained within that database which we lovingly call "The API". Our API is a PHP/MySQL based REST API which happily delivers continuously up to date information to our campus representatives and call centers which absolutely require up to date information to provide to potential students. Next to the API, secondary responsibilities include managing multiple Apache web servers and MariaDB/MySQL database servers, server security and maintenance, and user access. I am responsible for maintaining our Wordpress installations and developing / co-developing numerous Wordpress plugins and themes used on our primary website, along with numerous other sites more acutely focused. The development team works closely together and shares multiple codebases in GIT and works together to utilize services such as Optimizely for A/B testing and Google Analytics for site performance. Also to analyze current infrastructure and make necessary improvements, and migrate as needed, to maintain a competitive edge in the non-profit education space.Other responsibilities include code review for security and coding standards, mentoring and assisting junior developers, and assisting the web team marketing manager in upcoming project management and time frames. Using my skills as a LAMP administrator and PHP programmer I have been successfully working for myself. I remotely manage numerous LAMP systems for clients as well as develop custom programs using PHP and MySQL. Several clients I have worked for have decided to hire me full-time while I was working on a specific web application and I was released when the application was deemed completed. I thoroughly enjoy developing web applications and fine-tuning my skills as a LAMP developer. Using my skills as a LAMP administrator and PHP programmer I have been successfully working for myself. Responsibilities included end user support of corporate desktop applications; NextGen EMR, Outlook Email, Windows Active Directory support and domain control, in a multi-clinic environment. I assisted my team in desktop support and trouble shooting as well as network related issues. I continued in this role throughout the tenure of my employment but after a few weeks of employment my primary responsibility was changed to web developer. I developed an in-house helpdesk system for the IT and maintenance departments for managing workloads, tracking system or building problems and historical activity. I developed an asset and inventory management system for tracking any and all equipment and it's use along with trouble issues related to any IT or maintenance helpdesk tickets. Show less

I was lead system and network administrator for the tribal government office. I managed all desktop support and new installations for tribal offices, court offices and the police department. I used a RHEL server with Samba and LDAP to manage all network authentication and volume share control as well as email. I was requested to develop member management systems for a tribal daycare and athletic gym. While working for the tribe I learned PHP to complement my HTML and CSS skills to complete a helpdesk ticket tracking system for all computer problems, a gym membership web application for signing up new members, tracking existing members and logging time-in and time-out of all members, as well as payment history and dues. A similar system was created for the daycare facility with customizations necessary to fit their needs. The tribal Police department requested my transfer to become their sole administrator and I agreed. In 2007 I attended the police academy where I injured my brachial plexus. I was relieved of all tribal duties. Show less

Circuits Computers was a local computer retailer, both parts and custom systems. I managed the repair facility and all technicians. Computers came in for every problem imaginable and we repaired the computers according to customer requests. I was responsible for all in house repair and field work. Local businesses in town also contracted with us to manage their computers and networks. Most work was related to Windows home computers and a few Windows based servers. The company was closed down because the owners lost interest. Show less

I was initially hired as a temp to assist with a role-out of 500 new desktop machines. When the new machines were all in the field the company hired me full time to assist with desktop support of all desktop applications and engineering applications. The company had multiple engineering buildings across its campus and after 6 months I was moved to the research and development building where I was the sole support for the entire building including engineers on foreign fields. I had support staff I could escalate large issues to in other buildings who would help in my building when needed. I managed a single linux samba server to assist me in daily activities. All work was tracked via Remedy helpdesk and email. The company was sold to Novellus and shortly after September 11 the Speedfam IT department was laid off in favor of temp staff and the Novellus staff. Show less
