Facilitation and development all of the necessary process, creative and logistics behind commercials, advertising, social content and other visual media. Having fun being the orchestra’s conductor on-set during video production while also skillfully being able to play each instrument solo, as needed. Enjoying being able to enrich all projects from dev/writing stages through hand-on production and the post process. Content Producer/Video Creative Dir. - Video, Motion & Graphic Design, WordPress
-
Jul 2008 - Present
Freelancing, I’ve collaborated with numerous agencies, clients and brands to create striking visual content. My prime expertise involves leading video 360° start to finish; through producing & pre-production, writing, videography/filming and all post-production phases - especially video editing and motion graphics. For me, bring on team work or my operating as a one-stop video shop for your company. A life-long learner, I also excel in Graphic Design for digital and print, handling print production with printers and automatic paper cutting machines. More recently my work includes Social Media Management and forging into interactive and E-Commerce through custom WordPress site development. 3D is the next frontier I'm traversing. Let’s collaborate.

The wonderful staff at Calvary moved mountains for their congregation; multiple services and community outreach events per week, several large yearly conferences (with 1200+ attendees) and many recurring or one-off events. Utilizing print, digital and video work was key to their mission of touching families' lives. As a key member of their Creative Department, no two days were alike and each required new, unique collateral made. My digital work included: animated web banners, social media/newsletter content, LED screen vfx, photo retouch. I created all print design and ran production (printing/cutting machine/QC) myself to create hundreds of each piece for parishioners: flyers, brochures, feedback forms, 30+ pg. conference booklets, product DVD cases/discs, as well as designing event vinyl signage and roadside billboards. In addition to Graphics, I'd regularly run many video tasks: event coverage, production, interviews, DVD menu creation, as well as training the Creative Dept. in audio/video/motion graphics abilities.

Amazing work with this team included all aspects of video production and took me (literally) around the world. Working alongside this powerhouse team since the agency’s inception, I’ve learned volumes from these talented artists and with every project, growing my own abilities alongside Jpixx’s accolades, client list and successes. During my time with the seasoned team at the Meridian Group, I enjoyed overseeing our video department through all project stages. I was fortunate to work as Producer for several TV ad campaigns for our clients and ongoing social media video campaigns; deeply appreciating being called on to guide and produce these spots from pre-pro to broadcast. During my work with O'Brien I was fortunate enough to touch each of the phases of video production within our ad agency, including planning and on-set production, cinematography, extensive editing, motion graphics, animation, audio editing and color grading. We create broadcast quality TV ads, informational pieces and web videos for a host of clients, often done with very fast turnaround and with varying budgets. Early on my main focus had been technical videos for Nissan USA, but matured to include pieces for Infiniti USA, Chartway Federal Credit Union, Liberty Tax, Lake Taylor Hospital, J&A Racing, several automotive dealerships, the City of Virginia Beach and a host of other clients. My favorite element of O'Brien is the staff - I've loved working with such a diverse group of talented people. Every day there is unique and filled with chances to make our work shine!

Tech & Video/Audio Quality Control

May 2008 - Jan 2009
At Goldcrest Post, I ran our final check for the quality of audio/video in films and documentaries before going to theaters, distribution or broadcast. I also aided clients and our personnel in the machine room, an A/V hub that connected users' editing suites to our networked storage, a color grading/screening theater and HDCAM/Betacam decks. Editor/Visual Effects Supervisor on 'Beneath the River'
-
Jan 2007 - Aug 2008
Beneath the River, originally titled 'The Butterfly Knot', an independent feature-length film: Early on I handled visual effects work, involving compositing and shot clean-up to remove reflections, wires, etc. Eventually I re-edited the entire film alongside our talented director Brian Strine, changing the flow of our story's structure and making an unlikable 'hero' more redeeming. During this process I also collaborated in writing an entirely new denouement that was soon shot by our DP, the great Andre Pienaar, creating a completely new ending for our dark tale of fading love

May 2006 - Sep 2006
During my school summer break in '06, I was fortunate to be able to grow my animation abilities on work for a television show for Nick Jr. and Noggin - 'Jack's Big Music Show'. My main tasks included animation/design for 2D characters throughout mini stories that followed fun multi-genre songs for preschoolers. I also was heavily involved in shot clean up to remove elements/wires/etc visible from green screen backgrounds and puppeteers, as well as assisting with video editing and minor system troubleshooting/maintenance

Editor / Videographer / Instructional Design for ETC Dept
-
Feb 2004 - Mar 2006
When enrolled in RIT's dual Film & Animation program, I gained further valuable insight and experience while working for the campus' ETC Video Production/Marketing Department. On camera, I captured exciting footage of campus concerts and keynote speaking engagements, as well as singlehandedly live-streaming multi-cam setups that allowed professors to reach distance learners across the nation and overseas. Editing projects ranged from campus PR pieces, updates to archived betacam videos to fast-turnaround jobs that needed to go from classroom to online students the same day. Finished projects were often captioned and all delivered via web and DVD, podcast or videotape
