  Design, implement, and integrate new features into existing products, as well as perform verification and testing of existing features. Work so far has been centered on our 1394 and Fibre Channel products. Gained experience with upper-level FC protocols, such as ASM, SCSI, and ADVB (ARINC-818) in the process. Learned the Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) and performed contract verification work for approximately three months, which also involved the creation of new UVM test bench documentation.

  Worked on various company projects to acquire valuable hardware engineering experience. The languages primarily used throughout this internship were VHDL, Verilog, and C. Industry tools, such as Vivado, Vitis, Libero, and Questa, were used to create test apparatus, make FPGA images, debug products, and design new features. Valuable knowledge gained related to AXI protocols, esoteric protocols like Fibre Channel, and general architectural design. Learned new company dynamics and soft skills obtainable only by working as an engineer. Performed work on embedded systems programming written in C, as well as its integration with hardware components written in VHDL. Created test benches using VHDL and Verilog for new products. Debugged existing product features and tool issues.
