University Calculus and Statistics Tutor
-
Jun 2011 - Mar 2014
I tutor university pre-calculus, calculus and statistics students. I act as a math coach and encourage these university students, through positive feedback, enabling them to successfully complete their math courses. As a math tutor I learned the value of guiding a student to come upon the answer to their own question rather than answering their question. My teaching style promotes inquiry based learning as well as scaffolding whereby I model a problem, work through the problem with the student and then have them attempt the problem on their own.
