Performs a variety of visa, accreditation and administrative duties in support of the U.S. Direct-Hire employees, their EFMs and MOHs and LE Staff assigned to France. These include 3 missions, 2 CGs, 4 APPs, 50 associated agencies, o/a 900 employees, of which 350 Americans. Has full direct responsibility for the accreditation of FSOs, Household staff, employees with multiple accreditaion and Third Country Nationals. Intervenes with the MFA for intern visa issues and special cases, legal cases issues and French citizenship issues. Is required to translate lawsuit cases relating to ORE or LE Staff issues. Process requests for work permits for family members; manages the airport pass program. Good knowledge of human resource or customer-service practices. Good understanding of complex regulations on visas, accreditations, privileges and immunities. Excellent judgment exercised when dealing with a variety of people under different circumstances, including pressure situations where accurate informaton must be provided quickly and action initiated rapidly. Excellent judgment exercised to apply complex regulations in a great variety of instances. Excellent judgment exercised to counsel employees and explain to them in detail regulatory, procedural and policy requirements. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to handle clients under stress with empathy, understanding, objectivity and confidentiality. Daily contacts with American and LES human resources employees. Maintains contacts at all levels within the U.S. Missions in France and at the appropriate levels in the Department of State in Washington, D.C.
