Nate is a legal whiz, a sharp wit and a great sport.

Ogan Gurel MD

In June of 2009 I had embarked on the Walk for Healthcare, a Walk from Chicago to Washington DC aiming to bring the voice of real people to the healthcare reform debate. After leaving Chicago, Fort Wayne was the first major metropolitan city along my path. Nate Williams was the main organizer of the rally along with media coverage and other logistical details. He accomplished all this with very little notice, under considerable time pressure and literally 'on the fly' as this was very much the nature of the initiative. Everything came off smoothly and professionally and indeed Fort Wayne turned out to be one of the highlights of this month-long journey. I thank Nate for his strong committment and superb organizational ability.

Organize action-events in support of contract negotiations for janitors in Houston who are represented by Local 1, conduct research in support of bargaining, and lead delegation visits. I was also elected by my co-workers to the position of staff union representative & executive board member for the Houston office. For the past year I have been working on the Airport Workers United campaign organizing passenger assistance workers at Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport. We have had several milestone victories, including winning the support of the Mayor of Houston and key members of Congress. I have developed an active organizing committee and we hope to win recognition for the union by the end of 2012. I represent members of the staff union in resolving disputes with management & serve on the executive board of the staff union that covers workers in 11 cities. Show less
