I drafted grant applications for ProForum and its subsidiary organizations. One such subsidiary included the Social Justice Film Institute, which hosts the annual Social Justice Film Festival in Seattle. Beyond grants, I was a staff writer for ProForum’s Professional Licensing Report, a publication that tracks the impact of court decisions on state professional regulations. This work included managing our subscriber-base and drafting articles on court and disciplinary board decisions. I drafted grant applications for ProForum and its subsidiary organizations. At ULP, I represented claimants who were denied unemployment benefits. This representation included factual investigation during client intake, counseling clients prior to administrative hearings, advocating for clients during those hearings, and drafting petitions for review to appeal negative outcomes. My mission was to connect the voice of UWB's student body to all levels of government, which in turn empowered our student's political agency. To accomplish this goal, I organized voter registration drives, invited several legislators to UWB, and organized "lobby days" wherein I recruited and transported students to Olympia to meet with their respective state representatives and senator. Concurrently, I recruited and led a student lobby organization called the Students' Legislative Action Committee. This organization polled the UWB student body to compile a list of chief legislative priorities, which in turn focused our efforts on bills to increase voter engagement and accessibility. Show less
