Nat is an excellent Front-End developer with very deep knowledge of his trade. He is expert at what he does and comes with excellent references and recommendations from me and previous employers. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in utilizing his services in the future.

Rolo Mawlabaux

Nat was a real client side ninja, not just for his superb cross browser CSS and markup ability but also for combining that with the harder to come across OO Javascript-as-a-programmer skills. Would definitely recommend.

I am currently developing a tool that will allow me to build and deploy secure, modular, and scalable Single Page Applications relatively quickly. I am using a Docker "micro services" stack with an Nginx reverse proxy container directing requests to various Node, PHP and MySQL containers (back end APIs) and a React front end container. It harnesses the power of Contentful – an API first “headless” CMS. At first, this will allow me to build relatively simple, client-friendly websites very quickly. The architecture allows me to add more and more features without adding much complexity, and eventually I will be able to build and deploy web site with a multitude of design, template and UX options in a matter of days if not hours. For example, a feature that will be added is integration with Shopify – by using the Shopify API and webhooks, products in Shopify can be added to Contentful. Previously I was working primarily with alicespig.com, a fashion brand from Brixton. I designed, built, hosted and maintained their e-commerce website. https://www.alicespig.com - JavaScript (OO and functional), Responsive CSS, HTML 5, Contentful and Shopify CMSs, PHP (MVC OO), MySQL, Linux hosting (https), SEO, Cross domain Google Analytics, UTM campaign tracking, Design and UX Also I built these websites: http://www.drjcurran.co.uk, http://hodgesadvisory.biz , http://www.rosendale.cc HTML, Responsive CSS, Wordpress, PHP, WordPress, Google API Show less

I worked on Discovery Kids, a Node and Server Side React application for children's video for the Latin American market. After 2 months I did a handover to a 3rd party agency including writing documentation. After this I worked for 4 months on a project to develop a suit of internal developer tools that allows easy use of their proprietary CMS/VMS/UMS. This included NPM module that provided an interface to the CMS/VMS/UMS API, an NPM module for a video.js based video player, and a React/Redux Authentication Service. I developed a good working relationship with the DevOps team and wrote documentation for the build and deployment pipeline. I also wrote documentation for testers to build a feature branch on their local machine, using NPM Link. - React, Redux, React Router, Redux Sagas, Server Side React, Webpack, ES6, CSS3 - NPM, NPM Link, Nexus private NPM repo, Git, GitHub, GitFlow branching strategy, Docker, Jenkins Show less

Working on Sony Playstation's EU web site, using Agile project management and Kanban development methodology. I worked primarily on building the new site for High Definition TVs on the PS3 web browser. I did a lot of javaScript work, primarily without a library, but I also wrote some jQuery extensions and did some other jQuery work. It was also interesting to work on a site geared towards display on a TV and using a Playstation controller for navigation. Also it was good experience to work within a Java Struts environment. I was the sole Client Side Dev to work on and launch the new Vietnamese site working with World Service's new rapid delivery CMS. This role involved a lot of testing and feedback for this new CMS, so strong communication and organisational skills were paramount. Also, the HTML and CSS methodology used at World Service is excellent and very consistent so a deep understanding of those technologies and good methodology was important for maintaining and extending the good work that had already been done. Most of my work here was building a 'multidimentional' search menu for the Figleaves.com web site using javaScript, HTML and CSS. I used an Ajax call to JSON data for the structure and content build of the menu, which could be rebuild on the fly according to department, with dynamic insertion of DOM nodes for the HTML. I used jQuery, using one or two relevant extensions, and also built a number of extensions myself. There were also a number of extra features/behaviours to the menu which made life more challenging. I worked on Wasabi's 'White Label' product which is yet to be released, using OO JavaScript and jQuery, Ajax, XHTML, CSS and Visual Studio. This was a great place to work with lovely people. This job requires a good understanding of Object Oriented JavaScript which I enjoyed. Also, I wrote my first, albeit small, jQuery extension which was very satisfying and I am quite keen to more of this type of work. Piins.com is a highly innovative new web product for which I was responsible for the client side code in the first phase of its development. This involved HTML, CSS and JavaScript (mostly using jQuery) as well as integration with PHP Smarty templates, using Zend Studio dev env. This was the most technically demanding work I have ever done because it required that all my HTML, CSS and JS would continue to work when placed into any other web site, whilst remaining W3C standards compliant and to my usual high standards of semantics, SEO and accessibility, as well as retaining complete seperation of meaning(HTML), presentation(CSS) and functionality (unobtrusive JavaScript)., Show less

I worked in Radio and Music Interactive for 5.5 years, so this constitutes the bulk of my experience as a Client Side Developer. The BBC was a big influence on me, because the standards there were very high. They thought and cared about things such as accessibility and multi platform code long before they became accepted as being important in the wider web industry. My proudest achievement at the BBC was writing the current BBC Browser Support Standard, but also being early adopter of W3C Web Standards and influencing those around me to be more progressive in this respect.
