Working one on one with knitwear designer of Kiosk Ltd, where we worked closely discussing inspirational ideas, catwalk trends, styles, stitch, shape and swatch ideas. This is an on going freelancing job where I am currently continuing to freelance alongside my final year. I have been able to gain valuable skills including, new innovative stitches, key eye for colour and pattern, fully fashioning knitwear, shape, grouping designs together, accuracy as well as working independently, working to a set brief and learning how to improve my self through criticism and feedback. This experience has been a great opportunity for me to learn more about the knitwear industry, I have sold a good number of swatches through agents and shows in New York, LA and Paris whilst freelancing for Kiosk. After working at More Magazine for a week I was able to see what goes on behind the scene of a current Fashion magazine. Throughout my experience I was able to observe and shadow an intern where I was responsible for general jobs around the office including making tea, collecting and distributing mail and hanging up clothes. I was able to master how to answer the phones professionally, and sort out post and parcels that came in throughout each day which I had the job of sending back to different locations. I also got the opportunity to attend feature meetings, press days and was able to observe a Photo shoot that was taking place for the next issue. I had the chance to demonstrate my use of organization skills throughout my work experience and I think this really stood out when presenting myself within given tasks and responsibilities. I gained an insight to how the running of the magazine flowed and was interesting to work in a fast paced environment, under pressure and see how they work to deadlines every week. Show less
