Dec 2005 - Feb 2006
I was employed in the in-house legal department helping to draft contracts and agency agreements and paperwork to do with joint venture enterprises. The work was team-oriented and I was encouraged to make input at regular staff meetings. I found the process confidence-building and many of the skills I learned I was able to put to good use later as a business interpreter. I took part in client conferences, both live and by conference call and gained a reasonable overview of the company’s commercial activities and the problems associated with the opening up of offices in an emerging market with new company and related legislation.
