      • Mar 2015 - Present

he 'This Girl Can'Campaign is a celebration of active women who are doing their thing no matter how well they do it, how they look or even how red their face gets. Funded by The National Lottery and developed by Sport England, we want to help women overcome the fear of judgement that is stopping too many women and girls from joining in.As an ambassador for this campaign I have had the opportunity to impact thousands of young girls and women all over Leicestershire & Rutland. I have done this through attending well organised women in sports events, providing motivational and inspiring talks and delivering kickboxing workshops. My work in this area will continue as it is a true passion of mine.

The past 4 years has seen me positively impact over 40,000 women & girls. Firstly through the use of kickboxing workshops, at annual events & afterschool clubs. More recently I have incorporated yoga into the mix, offering either kickboxing or yoga to students, employees or private individuals. Over the years I have found that the combination of kickboxing and yoga is perfect for overcoming and working through trauma (physical or emotional or both) - It's what helped me and I have now see it help others. Consequently, I have designed hybrid sessions that combine kickboxing and yoga in one class. It aims to help alleviate buried emotions or trauma, and encourage letting go. I'm looking forward to see this path unravel.

    • President of the LGBT Society
      • Jan 2012 - Sep 2013

Launching this society proved difficult given the small size of the law school in comparison to your average university. Thus, I immediately aimed to create a large LGBT community in the whole of Manchester of which my society at the Law School could benefit from. We can now proudly say that we are connected with all 3 universities of Manchester, MMU, Salford and UoM. I offer support, and friendly advice to those confused or unsure and organise events and meetings.

When I entered my last year of my degree I decided to focus 100% on my modules and stepped down in my role as President.I am in the process of training the students for competitions

    • 2 Week Work Placement
      • Feb 2013 - Feb 2013

I attended a work placement with Roberts Jackson Solicitors for a duration of 2 weeks. I learnt about NIHL claims, how to read an Audiogram, the process of a claim and attended a hearing in Liverpool with one of the Litigators at the firm as well as a cumulative back injury trial valued at £150k with a trainee at the firm. I sat in on teleconferences, valued a case for a colleague, and went through a transfer case from Gorvins Solicitors with Karen Jackson. I also got to experience the admin and telesales side of the firm. Overall, I found an area of law that I became fond of from the first moment that I heard a clients' voice on the teleconference. Industrial Disease Law has a huge impact on their clients and can be extremely rewarding when the outcome is positive.
