My role at the Nundah Activity Centre is diverse and ever changing. The centre is a small not-for profit organisation with a strong focus on the ageing population in the area and nationwide. · Built and strengthened the number of clients and service providers nationwide involved in the Digital Community Visitors Service. · Implemented the Nundah Activity Centre’s ‘Active at Home/Otago’ program, funded through Medicare Local including the Establishment of the centre’s first participants in the program. As a CHSP officer I am responsible for liaising with clients, their advocates, other service providers and government departments. As volunteer co-ordinator I am responsible for inducting, processing and placing all new volunteers for the Nundah Activity Centre. I oversee and co-ordinate the administrative requirements for all the programs at the centre. Being a small not-for profit organisation with minimal staff my administrative responsibilities have expanded over the years to all areas of service the centre provides. The innovative, nationwide Digital Community Visitors Service (DCVS), the LGBTI DCVS, individual and group social support, allied health programs, transport, domestic assistance, Meals on Wheels, the Community Visitors Scheme.
