The overall goal of this project is to give access to high-quality art education by improving programming that can be offered virtually & in-person and give teachers & parents the tools that promote critical thinking and social-emotional growth in youth. The VISTA member will: develop outreach & community engagement methods to reach rural and/or low-income constituents; participate in volunteer resource development; identify & develop a funding stream to support new programming; & improve technology to engage students & educators. This project will alleviate poverty by providing arts opportunities for students, thus increasing academic engagement and success in school which each contribute to the tools needed to move out of poverty.
