Within my role at House of Fraser I recruit for numerous stores around the UK for any selling/ non selling roles within each individual store. It’s quite challenging because I’m in charge of making sure that all 20 of my stores I have are fully recruited. I cover the whole of London so the staff turnover for all 3 stores are considerably high, so it’s quite a demanding task to do.We run Assessment Centres in store for our selling roles for example Sales Adviser/ Brand Specialists, which is a process of where candidates are assessed to determine their suitability for a specific role they have applied for. If the store are unable to accommodate for there assessment centres that are scheduled in us as a recruiter we step in and run the assessment centres ourselves, which is exciting because you get the meet the candidates we have previously spoken too. We also have to do telephone screens for our non-selling roles, this includes an in-depth understanding of each individuals current situation and work history/ experience. Recently after having the chance to recruit for Management roles within House of Fraser has built up experience for better opportunities, I now have the knowledge of recruiting via LinkedIn and searching for the best candidates for each individual store, every location is quite demanding and each have specific qualities that they look for in each individual so it’s quite a challenging task to ensure we look for the most suitable candidate.Since being taken over by Sports Direct we can taken on a few more responsibilities further into recruitment, we now are able to process hire forms making sure all the new starters information matches against their Right to Work documentation. All hire forms have to be check by me and my team then sent over the HR for final checks, this means we are working closer with the HR team making sure everything is consistent and checked correctly

After previously being employed as a supervisor with the company, I got head hunted by the company’s Retail Director as the new Assistant Manager for the store. All the responsibilities are the same as my previous job, just different approaches within the store. My responsibilities include going to Manager’s meetings around the UK and advising all members of staff what they need to do to maintain our service for the company and the yearly targets. Lacoste is a £2 million store brand that has customers from all over England, Scotland and Wales interested, we often get very positive feedback to our Head Office about or service we provide. Every week we are hitting our targets and KPI's which give us a very positive head on the upcoming weeks we always have. After being with the company in total for nearly 7 years, I thrive off of the confidence I have built, and I am always willing to take on any responsibilities whether that being in or out of the store. I worked very closely with my team and made sure all expectations were met, I always try to ensure all my team members were suitable and worked their hardest to maintain an excellent service, this mainly included making sure our mystery shop review was perfect or if we didn’t maintain this we would all gather for a team meeting to centre our attention on where to improve. Another main focus was to make sure all expectations were our main focal point for example making sure all sales were driven as well as our footfall, making sure we are able to improve these if needed.
