I was selected to be part of this 8-weeks intensive program that combines technical data-science and business project management training with the work on a business project. My main research project was conceived under the evidence that neurons in human Medial Temporal Lobe are strikingly invariant for the representation of perceived objects, responding to abstract concepts rather than basic metric details. These neurons called ‘concept neurons’ would be the building block for the formation of new memories and learning of associations, and they may even provide the basis for the flow of consciousness. Where and how this percept/abstract representation is formed in the brain? Studies on such process are particularly challenging since multiple expertise is required. I am a cognitive neuroscientist with background in biology, and to tackle this important question I apply electrophysiological techniques, data analysis and mutual information theory. Show less
