The group operations included two textile spinning mills, one knitted fabric, a knitted garment manufacturing facility supplying to world famous brand names like Levi’s, Ralph Lauren. Increased revenue by 400% in only two years, after leading a business turnaround through group restructuring and a modernisation programme. Successfully led contract negotiations and signed the first captive power agreement with a local utility company, for two captive power generation facilities, owned by HMI. Led all financial, manufacturing, marketing, and operational activities. Set up the financial reporting process and the accounting system, while creating a programme for daily critical performance reports and highlighting areas of concern: Developed cashflow controls to ensure leveraging was managed efficiently. Prepared feasibility studies and arranged long- and short-term financing from institutions (consisting primarily of morabaha and ijarah), and leasing / term funding. Organised a public listing of two companies within the group (with underwriting arrangements and IPO). Delivered the IPO, raised debt, and successfully listed the company shares on the stock exchange.
