I was hired by CMS to manage, revamp, and revitalize marketing/public relations initiatives within the Society. I spearheaded the revival of social media efforts as well as creating an overall branding language that has significantly streamlined communications efforts and improved brand recognition in the City of Edmonton. My role also includes managing media and community relations, as well as the management of our website from hosting to design. Additionally, I manage the design of all marketing materials including merchandise, billboards, and concert posters (with some exceptions). More recently, I began to spearhead efforts to attract and retain corporate sponsors in addition to other fundraising activities. Show less

    • Community Manager | Production Admin & Voice Over Talent/Host |
      • Apr 2010 - Jun 2021

Former Founding Member and Production Admin for Pandemic Panda LLC, a company based in the United States that creates online content primarily through YouTube. In particular, I was an originator and occasional host of the TTV Podcast, as well as voice talent for Pandemic Panda's other series. In addition to responsibilities as a voice-over host and production assistant, I spent the majority of my time working for The TTV Channel as a community moderator and PR manager. In this role I liaised with the greater AFOL (Adult Fan of Lego) community, primarily running damage control when misunderstandings led to negative perceptions of the brand, and spent 5 years as one of the primary Administrators of the TTV Message Boards. This role shaped much of my approach to marketing and community management as a frankly impressive number of controversies occurred during my tenure, each of which had to be handled with care as they involved initiatives that relied on community acceptance, or could potentially risk the LEGO Ambassadorship held by the Channel. As a result I genuinely believe that even the most unnecessary or "absurd" complaints are worth acknowledging with humility, humanity, and compassion, and have learned strategies for calming even those who traditionally were dead-set against the channel's operations. In this role I also took over administration for TTV's most recent community contests, answering questions and moderating very heated discussions when able. Show less
