On a team of three I would spend my time using CAD (Autodesk: Inventor and AutoCAD primarily)designing structures with very intricate details while keeping machine tolerances, structure, andscale in mind. Furthermore, each part would then be manufactured, either in house or outsourced, and assembled by a team of technicians. Each design is optimized for quality while still maintaininga timeline. In partnership with four other students, created multiple designs and tested each to create a new cot for the US Military. The design is smaller when collapsed and able to hold larger individuals than current models. My direct contribution was a technical analysis using Autodesk: Inventor. To be specific, I tested the cot under many different loading conditions to determine the weak points and determining a safety factor, all while making sure the codes and standards researched, were met. During this time I was building the groundwork to a company for an application idea that I had. After establishing a well thought out plan of action that included marketing strategies and reaching out to investors, I decided to take it upon myself to lay the ground work (begin to code the front-end) of my application. I took three months where I dedicated myself to learning how to code and got very far into process. The venture did workout after I decided to join a team of individuals with a similar vision. After two months of working with them it was clear their direction was different than mine and I then left the project. Due to a noncompetition agreement I decided to not pursue the idea further. The name as also since been changed
