Bio
Brianne Gilbert
In short, Narek has shown, and continues to show, an impressive level of knowledge, drive, and commitment both as a researcher and as a student (a senior in his final semester as of this writing). Soon after enrolling in my GIS course, Narek approached me about working at the Center. I was impressed with his ambition and his clear goals for the future. Narek had a set of objectives that he saw as critical to getting him where he needed to be to meet his career goals. He knew he needed to learn GIS to excel in his field of urban studies, he knew he needed research experience outside of the classroom to get a hands-on understanding, and he knew he would need internships to learn about the outside world. In his words,
Rathar Duong
In the short time that Narek was an intern with the City of Glendale Planning Division, he demonstrated himself to be team player, a quick learner, and displayed a genuine interest, enthusiasm, and intuition for the Planning profession. Narek understands the interconnection and the balance between the social, economic, and physical aspects of Planning that is typically demonstrated by a seasoned planner. Should he pursue this profession and with experience, he will without a doubt serve a public or private agency well.
