Facilitated merger of entire Capital Health regions into one authority forming Alberta Health Services. Coordinated the implementation of new financial systems and assisted directors and front line managers through the transition. Generated budgets and forecasts on a monthly basis and conducted variance/financial analysis for the Diagnostic Imaging Department for Edmonton and the Provincial Equipment and Informatics Department. Managed an extensive portfolio exceeding $200 Million and conducted monthly meetings with directors to review financial statements and reports. Performed various types of cost analysis, which included costing new hospital departments, salaries, transfer of exams and budget from one hospital to another. Designed an excel spreadsheet system that compared actual amortization expenses to contract values. This spreadsheet was used to perform analysis and determine contract renewals. Taught learning workshop to implement this strategy Province wide to track financials. Efficient at all Excel functional such as: Macros, pivot tables, v-lookup, queries, scenarios, logical formulas and used Excel as an everyday tool for reporting.Prepared working paper for auditors to review (including lead sheets preparing, using accounting knowledge making notes and comments).
