Within the role of Purchasing Manager I was responsible for monthly stock auditing, customer forecast reviews, creating supplier forecasts and orders. The role required constant order review and negotiation with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and cost effectiveness. There was an overlap in roles for a period of time when I also performed Scheduling Management duties. This overlap was beneficial to the Purchasing role as it enabled an easier flow of information from customers into our processes ensuring we were able to create more accurate forecasts for our suppliers and work with suppliers where needed to be flexible with schedules from time to time. As Scheduling Manager I was able to play to my strengths of customer service with daily communication with all customers. I designed a spreadsheet to encompass our jobcard system allowing for quick and easy data entry whilst minimising human error in transference of customer orders into schedules. Monitoring of work areas in production was required to ensure all jobs were being completed on-time internally.The overlap in roles for a period of time when I also performed Purchasing Management duties was beneficial to the Scheduling role as it promoted a more direct flow of information to our customers enabling us to meet and exceed their expectations with our deliveries. Working in one branch of our family business, over the years I have drifted in and out of various positions to fit in with the needs of the business at the time. With recent restructuring I have found myself back in the familiar roles of purchasing and scheduling. Although my days are often filled with many other duties, these roles form the core of my daily routine. During this tenure I have also found myself as warehouse and logistics manager for our operation - assessing the daily needs of our customers and our business are met in an efficient and cost effective manner. This is still a fairly new role for me and although challenging has proven to be very rewarding. As Property Manager I am able to put my communication and people skills into action when dealing with tenants and maintenance contractors. Having created a database I am now able to easily monitor lease dates, rent reviews and access current property and tenant details when called upon by our accountants.
