In 2019 I began a research degree investigating what moral responsibility we bear for the effects of implicit cognition (such as implicit bias) on our behaviour. As well as conducting my research, I assisted with the teaching of undergraduate courses by planning and leading seminars and first-marking essays. I withdrew from the programme in 2021 in order to change my career path.

In order to explore what it would be like to work in academic philosophy, I completed the Masters in Philosophical Studies (MPhil) course at UCL. I investigated the extent to which the effects of implicit cognition on behaviour can be accommodated within traditional philosophical accounts of agency.

Work Experience, Administrative Assistant & Intern
-
Oct 2011 - Jul 2012
Alongside my first year of study I worked part-time in the Literature Wales office, becoming a relied-upon member of the team. Placement 1: Marketing Assistant Intern (April-July 2012) Worked closely with a team of Literature Wales staff on the marketing and promotion of the inaugural Dinefwr Literature Festival, assisting them in the busy build-up to the event. Assisted with: mail-outs, leaflet drops & poster distribution, updating the festival website, writing news stories and social media. At the festival itself I led a team of volunteers, helping to ensure that they had a positive experience. Placement 2: Administrative Assistant (March 2012) Prepared entries for the Cardiff Poetry Competition to be sent to judges, keeping a record of each entry. Typed the transcripts for a forthcoming anthology about Whitchurch Hospital. Placement 3: Work Experience (November 2011 - January 2012) Updated information concerning the companies and organisations that Literature Wales work with on their database and website.
