If I was to summarize this recommendation, I would say that Naomi Kakundu - Mudiywa is incredible at every job that she is tasked to perform. In addition to this, she is excessively intelligent, kind, helpful and patient. Naomi was my direct supervisor while I was a Legal Candidate at the African Mining Legislation Atlas Programme (AMLA) under the Africa Legal Support Faculty (ALSF) sponsored by the World Bank Group. This was during a week long training session held in Maputo Mozambique in December of 2019 where Naomi was in charge of 20 students (both undergraduate and post graduate) of African descent. This team comprised of students that were Anglophone, Lusophone and Francophone speakers. Given this diverse portfolio that Naomi was handed, she was in charge of a group of individuals that held a diverse range of ideologies but she was always very calm and handled every situation with patience and grace. I was tasked with being the mode of communication between Naomi and my colleagues and she made this job enjoyable due to her sound judgement and the great rapport that she had with her colleagues as well as with her supervisees Naomi is also excessively intelligent. She took us through an intensive training on the relevant information to be uploaded on the AMLA platform. Naomi also planned, coordinated and judged a moot competition between teams created amongst my colleagues and I. She would also frequently send us relevant resources necessary for the training sessions in prior to the sessions which would help us prepare. Naomi would answer all our inquiries promptly and made sure we were always set for the next day of training. Naomi also ensured that we were all accommodated for and comfortable at the hotel where we stayed for the week in Maputo. I could easily go on and on. I hold no doubt that she would be an incredible asset to any team that she joins. I must therefore reiterate that she is excellent at every duty that she is tasked to perform and goes over and above what is expected of her.

I met Naomi when she was selected by the World Bank through a competitive process to participate in a workshop that brings together the best graduate law students from African universities. She completed the World Bank/ African Development Bank African Mining Legislation Atlas (AMLA) training program with outstanding achievements. Through a second selection process, Naomi was chosen to join 14 students out of 24 trainees to join the AMLA Legal Research Team (LRT) tasked with researching and organizing mining legislations of all African countries on an online platform. As an LRT member, she demonstrated strong research skills, timeliness in completing her tasks and commitment to high standards. For these reasons, she was appointed to join the AMLA Secretariat to implement the project at the ALSF (within the AfDB) where she was in charge of selecting and training the best African law students, organizing the annual AMLA training workshops in Kigali (2018) and Maputo (2019). I worked closely with her during these periods, and was impressed by her professionalism, her commitment in guiding the students, ensuring the quality of the curriculum, and making sure that all administrative and logistical aspects are effectively managed. She demonstrated strong leadership in difficult circumstances, good judgment, impressive strategic thinking while keeping attention to details. In addition, Naomi has excellent writing skills and great presentation skills. It is extremely pleasant and inspiring to work with her. I strongly recommend Naomi to any organization looking for talented, passionate, dedicated and professional legal experts. She will be a great addition to her colleagues and employer.
