Completed various digital archiving tasks for a collaborative role between Ritsumeikan University (Japan) and the Sainsbury Institute for the Study of Japanese Arts and Cultures (SISJAC, England). Tasks included website management, and creating an archive for Japanese auction catalogues. This role required self-management and independence skills to complete the set tasks from home (due to COVID-19 restrictions), and developed my knowledge of the digital humanities. This month-long research position involved conducting two follow-up experiments to the research previously conducted over my research assistantship in 2019. Due to COVID-19, the experiment was to be conducted online, allowing me to familiarise myself with online experimental software such as Pavlovia, Prolific, and Qualtrics. I worked independently and diligently to create the stimuli and experiments, and completed data analysis on the incoming results. Using my team-working skills, I was able to collaborate effectively with my supervisors, even though we were working remotely.

I represented my University by assisting during open days, subject-experience days, and helping with administrative tasks. I used my communication and interpersonal skills to encourage prospective students to choose Keele as their firm option, and to promote a positive view of the University. I worked diligently, using an image statistic technique to model face recognition in humans. After conducting the experiment, I created an academic poster and wrote the methods and results sections for a prospective publication. Working with other researchers allowed me to develop my research skills, particularly my critical thinking, editing, and team working skills. This three-week campaign required me to call University alumni to update their records and request donations. This allowed me to practice my customer service, negotiation and telephone skills. I won an award at the end of the campaign for being the 'most hard-working member of staff'.
