This role involves organising courses and conferences in clinical faculties such as dental, medical, surgical, travel medicine and non-clinical. I have organised courses such as IMPACT which stands for ill medical patients’ acute care and medical treatment. This course involves pre course learning and a variation of workshops, lectures and scenarios on the day. They will receive a certificate once they complete the course and a survey for feedback. Part of my role also is to work at Glasgow University at the Clinical Anatomy Skills Centre (CASC) where we work closely with surgeons and cadavers to deliver these events. An example of a CASC event is Surgical Skills for the Emergency Department Resuscitation Room. As a whole we organise 170 events annually and have 6,500 delegates per annum. Show less

    • Coffee Shop Staff
      • May 2016 - Feb 2018

I worked part-time in the coffee shop in the Park Hotel alongside my manager throughout my time at university. I have learned many skills working there such as providing good customer service for guests staying in the hotel as well as serving customers at the coffee shop and people walking by. I have had the opportunity to cash up the tills after shifts in the coffee shop which shows I am reliable. I have been able to work at football matches on the weekends which is a fast-paced working environment however I believe I can work well under pressure to still provide good customer service. I also work with other staff in the main bar when it comes to big events such as football games, funerals and on holiday seasons such as Christmas Day. I enjoyed working with the public alongside other departments in the hotel and seeing events taking place everyday. Show less

    • Lifeguard and Camp Counselor
      • Jun 2017 - Aug 2017

During the summer 2017, I worked as a lifeguard and camp counselor at the day camp at the New York YMCA in Huguenot, New York. It was an exciting although challenging experience working abroad as a student however it helped to improve my confidence and communication skills such as people skills living and working in a new environment. My daily routine consisted of working at the day camp Monday to Friday with primary school aged children aged 4-7 years old. It involved being a camp counselor to them teaching them new games, arts and crafts, outdoor education and swimming. I had the opportunity to do lifeguard training too and did this each day day during the children's swim time at the waterfront. I learned new skills completing this course such as in First Aid, CPR and Oxygen training that is useful in everyday life. Show less
