I worked with the Widening Participation outreach team to encourage school students from underrepresented backgrounds to consider the Univeristy of Bristol as an option for Higher education. This involved conducting talks about student life and Q&A sessions (in person and virtually), facilitating the Modern Languages stream of the 'Access to Bristol' programme and the Modern Languages stream of the Sutton Trust Summer School. I worked with the Global Lounge to welcome international students to the University of Bristol through facilitating online Q&A sessions, a Games Cafe and a Language Cafe to provide for their practical, social and wellbeing needs during their time in the UK. I worked with the School of Modern Language Outreach by going into local schools to help GCSE students prepare for their oral French and German exams and conducting film discussion webinars alongside academics.

During my year abroad as part of my degree, I worked in the Project Management department of this translation company where I dealt with private client translation enquiries in person, by phone and by email, oversaw translation projects from offering clients a quote, commissioning a translator, sending the translation for proofreading to delivering the translation in the desired format to the client. I also proofread and edited texts translated from either French, German or Italian into English. As part of my year abroad during my degree, I worked as an English language assistant which involved teaching pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar to children ages 8-10 through the use of songs, games and interactive activities, assessing the English speaking level of students with short 1-2-1 conversations, working in a team to plan lessons and explore English cultural traditions, and informing English teachers on cultural points of interest in termly meetings. During my year abroad as part of my degree, I worked as a conversational English language tutor for an Italian family, providing lessons to their 10 &13-year-old children which involved sourcing age-appropriate material, aiding their improvement in reading, listening, speaking and comprehension skills using articles, games, quizzes and conversation stimuli, reviewing their progress and writing an overall evaluation of their English skills for their parents. Ministry Assistant

As part of my year abroad during my degree, I worked as a Ministry Assistant for two months where I completed administrative and organisational tasks such as placing orders for resources, filing materials, sorting out the church library; I led Sunday school groups for children 8-10, where I explained the bible passage, organised and ran games; I met with church members for accompanied pastoral visits, social meals and to conduct bible studies. I was simultaneously involved with the 'Groupes Bibliques Universitaires' and the 'InterAction France' bilingual christian summer camps.

Administrative Summer Student

I worked for six weeks during the summer in the marketing, finance, and central administration departments where I updated client and company details onto organisational systems and online networks, organised computer files and event information in the marketing department, and invoices in the finance department. Due to my language skills I also translated letters and brochures from a German bank into English. Runner

I worked as a runner serving food and drinks during the Hampton Court Flower Show in a fine dining restaurant, Pimm's tent, and on a bar where I demonstrated excellent team working skills, adaptability and flexibility working with new people under different managers in unfamiliar settings, and great customer service skills.
