I collaborate with my employees each week to produce a menu of 16-20 home made ready to cook or heat meals such as potpies, empanadas, fresh pasta and ravioli, sauces and soups. I have developed all of our recipes to use as many locally produced and harvested ingredients as well as eggs and meat from our farm at Smith Meadows. Classical Cottage School is a consortium of professional teachers who implement an education model built from a study of Latin. Curriculum focus is on developing grammar, logic and rhetoric through a study of English & Latin Grammar, Ancient History, Mythology, Classical Literature, and Roman Culture. This classical perspective allows students to explore art and art history with a greater depth and appreciation for the social, political, and cultural contexts that makes the art and history possible. As a teacher at CCS, I used this classical approach to help students develop their creative and expressive potential by making art, as well as thinking and writing about the history of art. I taught seventh and eighth grade art. My curriculum was diverse in its exploration-- not only the seven elements of art, but also art history, cultural history, writing and more. I enjoyed developing projects that allowed students to find and develop their creative potential. I taught seventh and eighth grade art.
